Jamaat-e Islami
- Jamaat-E-Islami was established by a group of Islamic activists headed by Sayyed Abul 'Ala Maududi (d.1979) during the time of British India in 1941. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, this movement worked as an independent organisation in India as well as in Pakistan. Since 1971, when Bangladesh (formerly known as East Pakistan) seceded from Pakistan and became an independent state of its own, this movement was called Jamaat-E-Islami Bangladesh.
